Here I am, sitting in the table S. Ughh… where’s Yien Jong?
After the diamond, a girl’s best friend, especially when she is getting married, is her party planner, the brighter the better. As I had attended my friend’s wedding, the cheering and wishing are the most important. The setting for the wedding was moderate but I have to say it’s really fun. Although, I don’t get to expect lots of people that I knew came to Anne’s wedding. I’ve called Yien Jong several times which he’d told me, she was on his way. I hate him when he said like that. I’m waiting for him like an idiot. I knew he will unable to find the place and so I’ve decided to wait for him downstairs. I’ve tried to walk around the place. Well, I just realized Miri is getting bigger as for right now. Now, this city was having two flyovers. Honestly, it still can’t compare with Sibu because Sibu had lots of shop houses along the way. The thing that I like about Piasau commercial centre was there was night market here. It’s very near to this restaurant. As I can’t no longer, waiting for Mr. Loud Mouth Fairy (Yien Jong) to come I’ve decided to go up without him. I’m so shy to sit alone in my own table. But hey, there was Seng Jean which was becoming my classmates in the college (in my college years) which was 3 months later, she’d quit to continue her studies in teachings. In 2003, she was getting married. 4 years seems like the short time but there are lot of thing happens here. Now, she’d becoming a mother of two and about to have another baby due on 2008. Seng Jean also had told me the story about Cindy (real name, Cinderella and guys, no kidding!) who also used to be our classmates that were quit the college, a year later to continue her studies at Kuching (if I’m not mistaken). To my surprise, Seng Jean had told me that Cindy was now working in Australia. I bet now she was in Sydney. Sometimes, I’m good in guessing and some other times I was pretty bad in it! While I’m beginning to drown to the world of gossiping, suddenly, I’ve heard my cell phone ringing. Guess what! Mr. Loud Mouth Fairy was on the line. He was trying very hard to find the way to the restaurant and I was decided to come to find him.
My three favorite guests of all times….

The wine pouring ceremony…
When I get out from the banquet hall, Yien Jong was already at the first floor, standing there waiting for me. He’d started to question me about the table after finding his name. Well, I was assures him that it was very near to the stage. As he reached there, he was clearly shocked with all of it. I’m sitting there and enjoyed the nice cool plain water. Both of us started chit-chatting; from home to current affairs while fingers flying over my cellphone, try to ask the whereabouts of Soon Yin and William which they’ve told me that they was on their way. Both of them agree to come for Anne’s wedding and I’m very much excited to see all my friends here. I bet Anne feels the same way too. Few minutes later, after chit-chatting too much about the past old friends from our college, Soon Yin and William had arrived with their 7 year-old son, naughty Wee Ann. First of all, he greeted me and Yien Jong by saying, “Hello uncle, hello aunty…”. I just realized I was aunty at the age of 27. Few minutes there come the bride ad the bridegroom (Anne and her hubby Kien Fatt). The emcee of the wedding was started talking in Chinese and the problem is I’ve known very little Chinese language. While the emcee still busy making the announcement, Yien Jong and I tried to sneak peak over the menu for today. It’s very common menu during Chinese wedding like steamed fish, shark fin soup, fried prawn with butter, roasted chicken, beef and duck, vegetables and dessert. I love all of it, so I’ve tried all. Yien Jong thought that I’m crazy as he never seeing me grumbles from the first until the end of the food course. My secret, I won’t tell anyone else and not including…YOU. After the ceremony of ‘wine pouring to the glass’ ceremony (That’s what Yien Jong told me and I bet he fooled me again), both bride and bridegroom started the show by drinking wine ceremony. Then after finishing the ceremony, the family from the bride and bridegroom side is coming up to the stage to thank all guests for coming and also thanking the guests for wishing the bride and bridegroom good luck. The ‘yam-seng’ ceremony is a must in Chinese wedding ceremony and Yien Jong told me, this is the part is the most exciting among of all.
