Enrique Iglesias
“Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song)”
(3x) Do you know?
Chorus
Do you know what it feels like,
Loving someone,
That’s in a rush to throw you away?
(Do you know? Do you know? Do you know? Do ya?)
Do you know what it feels like,
To be the last one,
To know the lock on the door has changed?
(Do you know? Do you know? Do you know? Do ya?)
Birds, flying south is a sign of changes,
At least you can predict this every year,
Love,
You never know the minute it ends suddenly,
I can’t get her to speak
Maybe if I knew all the things it took to save us,
I could fix the pain that bleeds inside of me,
The look in your eyes doesn’t say the same about me,
I’m standing on the edge and I don’t know what else to give
Chorus
(4x) How can I love you
If you just don’t talk to me, babe?
I flow through my head,
Is the question is she needing
Another side of a man I cannot be,
Looking at the last three years like I did,
I could never see us
Ending like this
(Do you know?)
Seeing your face no more on my pillow
Is a scene I said ‘never happen to me’,
(Do you know?)
But after this episode I now see,
You can never tell how the next day life could be
Chorus(2x)
(4x) Do you know?
Chorus
Do you know what it feels like,
Loving someone,
(you don’t know how it feels)
That’s in a rush to throw you away?
(you don’t know how it feels)
Do you know what it feels like,
To be the last one,
(you don’t know how it feels)
To know the lock on the door has changed?
(you don’t know how it feels)
(Do you know? Do you know? Do you know? Do ya?)
(2x) (Do you know? Do you know? Do you know? Do ya?)
Born in May 8th, 1975, in Madrid, Spain, Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler is a singer/songwriter of Asian and European ancestry. He was the son of the famous crooner Julio Iglesias and Filipino journalist Isabel Preysler. His parent was divorced when he was three. Enrique had moved to Miami, Florida, United States, in 1983, at the age of 8, after the widely publicized kidnapping of his grandfather Julio Iglesias Sr. in Spain by Basque ETA which he would found unharmed two weeks later, to live with his father. However, as his father rarely at home, Enrique was raised by his nanny, Elvira Olivarez and used to visit his mum every summer. He enjoyed the luxury of being son of millionaire, while in Miami, but later he would developed a taste for simpler things which is a fact that would later surface in his concert, where he appeared with the plain clothes, including cotton shirts, and jeans. He chooses to pursue his career in music while attending the University of Miami. However, he was lacked of fund to record a demo tape. He received a loan of $2000 from his Nanny Olivares. He was auditioned by his future manager, Fernan Martinez who’d impress with his voice.
The two had promoted his demo across various record labels under the pseudonym Enrique Martinez. However, months later, he had signed up by Fonovisa and then went to Toronto, Canada to record his album in total anonymity. Fonovisa was the Indie label who helped him to turn into one of the most popular Latin America’s artists and in the Latin market in the United States which selling the Spanish albums than any other artists in that period of time. He made a crossover into the mainstream English market, before turn to millennium and signed a multi-album deal with Universal Music for an unprecedented $48,000,000, with Universal Music Latino to release his Spanish albums and Interscope to release English albums. Enrique has five Billboard Charts #1s in English. He holds the record for producing 17 #1 Spanish language hit singles on the Billboard Latin Tracks. The radio personality, Howard Stern was received a tape of a supposedly off-key along the track ‘Rhythm Divine’, in June 2000. Howard Stern played this humorous clip throughout the week by insinuating that Enrique lip synched and couldn’t sing well outside the studio. He’s even suggesting that Enrique himself didn’t sing on his album and comparing him to Milli Vanilli. By that time, Enrique flew straight to New York to appear on Howard Stern’s show, singing the acoustic version of ‘Rhythm Divine’ and ‘Be With You’ after which Howard told Enrique he had silenced his critics. However, Enrique would go on to say that controversy and his appearance on the show was the best promotion he could have. He is currently believed to be in the relationship with the tennis star, Anna Kournikova who’d appeared in the video for his song, ‘Escape’ and had confirmed his trademark facial mole was surgically removed in August of 2003.
